Meanwhile in the sticks of Connecticut we are on emergency generator power. A tornado hot the power line, somewhere, and the power is out in my neck of the woods. There is not much gas left to run the generator. Bye!

            Pictures! We want pictures!!

By the way, are you sure this isn't in any way associated with clearing your tracts?

Please do. I think I used SCX braid and it has a tendency to ball up on the ends which raises the front tires off the track. I usually just snip it off until they are too short and then change is in order. I trust your judgement Alan. Good run.

You think I can read what you said without electricity?

"Grid" power came back on after several hours. I was in the middle of bolting the new transmission into the brush mower when the lights went out. Four speeds plus reverse.

By the way, I have finished replacing the clutch cylinder in the Land Cruiser. Now I have to check the generator (another 10 HP gas engine) because the lights were mysteriously dimming when I used it last night. There are too many gas engines around here. They stink and they are noisy. I think a wood-fired steam boiler, hooked to a reciprocating steam engine, which drives a generator, would be a better way to supply emergency power.

Life on the frontier! Slot cars? Maybe later.

Nice, Alan, looks like my yard! Are those 10 HP gas engines in those lawn tractors?

Thanks for the fix Alan - I need all the help I can get.

I am looking forward to this car coming home. I have a couple of things I want to try to get more grip in the corners.

Lane 2 is a lot slower than Lane 1 and your car is actually going better .....

On the warm up lap for the second segment, the braid fell out, so I had to take the body off your car to fix it. While I was doing it I noticed that the Blue hot glue?...had broken away from the rear bearing, so I reglued it. When I refitted the bodyshell I didn't tighten the screws so much. You should notice the difference when in Segment 3.

                      Regards

(Also am glad to see my check has cleared your bank...)

                          Bionic Livingston?

I can read fine without electricity.

Great pictures, Alan. Have you tried any rubber-tired cars on the track since piling up some laps with silicone-clad GPR cars? Just wondering how your lap times may have varied.

Don't be scared of digging out them P cars, now that you have nice clean conditions.
Time to see them Porsches beating up on the Ferraris again. Eh?

I hear you, Robert, what about oil change time? I have:

                            4 cars
                            6 motorcycles
                            quad
                            boat
                            fieldmower (10.5hp)
                            lawnmower
                            pressurewasher
                            chipper
                            chainsaw
                            leafblower
                            weedeater

OK, some of those are 2str., but I don't even have a generator yet!?

Beejay, you are doing a very good job with the race, but I want a detailed comparison of how those '76 F1s compare on your track!! (not in this thread)

I gave a few of my Fly Classics (all Ortman tyred), a run this morning and they handled fine. I don't think the Sillies had any effect at all the track surface for urathene or rubber tyred cars.
I don't know what the Compound is on the Fly March, but it's the best Fly tyre I've used on wood. Grip, (once trued) is superb and I ran 3.9 odd laps with the March....very good.
I would have thought you would have one of these on order Paul since it is the car that ran in the 76 Canadian GP...

The "P's" are not coming out to play until the GT's are finished......it would be too distracting for me.
