Well well well, seems Mr. Wet is all dried up, even I beat him! Thanks for that guys, I have no idea how that dud of a motor pulled off such a thing on such a fast track, but I'll take it.

Uh huh. Mondial must have blinked coming out of turn three.

Fantastic finish to a great race gents, and something of a surprise ending; good to see some fresh faces on the podium!

          Oh, and Tony?

Wet's car was very inconsistent. Had some fast laps but it was hard to keep it in the slot.

Dennis, I drove your car and tried hard to get the win. Drove it ten/tenths, every lap but it was a few tenths slower than BigDSonic.

DrVanski, I drove your car all 5 heats(LMP). Was very fast in a straight line but limited on cornering. Had a funny tendency to roll and then grab power and squirt out toward the inside on the corner. The car could not be driven at the limit or it would come out. It did have a ton of straight line speed.

Milo, I didn't drive your car but drove door to door with it often, I in my Ferrari 512S with perfect balance of magnetism and power. While your car did seem lacking in brakes and power on my magnet-free wood track, on Area 51 (on the magnabraid) it had the right balance, and was very fast. As for my own car, unfortunately I could only flog it so hard before it flew out of the slot. I was also kind of chicken about pushing it too hard, since it was cornering so fast.

Wet's Flunder was driven a few test laps by me, and it was very fast. I noted the pod movement had increase since last I raced it, so that the gear rubbed against the HRS outer frame. That wire loop that holds the pod at the rear seems to have developed a looser fit. This may be relate to the inconsistency Wayne reported.

Great job from the Space Invaders at Area 51!

CongRats again to the Big Smokeio and the Big D for pulling out the wins in GT and PT.

Would love to hear about the foibles of my lowly entries. I was surprised that my GT faired better than the prototype. I know the video uploads take a ton of time, but it would be great to see some more, if possible, pretty please. to the GPR!

                  Area 51 GPR

I had the opportunity to drive Dennis Samson's GT entry earlier today - very good straight line speed, excellent on entry into the corner but a bit loose on exit if you got back on the throttle too early. Keep the rear end in shape (straight) through the corners (patience required particularly on exits...) and the car turns some surprisingly fast and consistent lap times. More than a few other drivers were surprised when the "roadster" started reeling them in and then passing them. Very nice car Dennis!

In the Prototype race, I raced BigDSonic's entry and Tony K.'s entry. BigDSonic's entry was one of a handful of cars that qualified in the 8 second range. It was also one of the very few Prototype cars that managed 8 second laps during the race. An outstanding magnet car on Area 51 - above average acceleration and straightline speed and excellent cornering (except the one decreasing radius turn). Congratulations on your class win!!

Tony K.'s Prototype car was also excellent in the corners - consistent and very predictable. The rear end would just start to break loose if you really pushed it but there wasn't really any need to since the car would carry a lot of speed throughout all corners without getting out of shape. Straight line speed and acceleration on the long Area 51 straights were only average compared to several other entries or this car would have finished much higher in the standings. A great race car!

A note to all GPR participants and organizers. Thank you for the opportunity to host a GPR event at Area 51. I would welcome the opportunity to do so again in the future!

Great, I made a good mag car. Thats downright embarrassing actually. Thanks for the report Robert. The results do back up your thoughts, I tended to do better on all the mag tracks than the non-mag ones. This does not bode well for the CPR...

Hats off to Steve for hosting this event. Another great job as allways! Also thanks for the controller. See you at Waynes next week.

                          Gentlemen start your engines!

                          A few action shots.

Mongo had trouble deciding which controller, but he finally settled on the thumb controller.

Nice Photo's Rich! Who was that man with all the controllers? Could this be MONGO the controller bandit? Mongo likes to be armed with many high-end controllers. He says without his many fine controllers at his side would be like showing up at a gun fight with a knife! Beware, he is very fast with his pearl handled Defelco controllers at his side!

No linear controllers were harmed. Non-linear controllers were substituted for photographic purposes.
