  • Terry, there are no magnets in the CPR!
At least thats what the rules say.

I know the car has press-on front wheels and those will be changed for sure. The gear ratio might need changed too. If I remember correctly it is geared 3.27.

Are there any more GPR races or is it finished?

Yeah, don't tell me we're finished? Did Wayne win GT? Oh... Man! There will be no living with that guy. Now he'll never cut his own grass!

        Finished!

        The GPR is OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
        (Except for the shouting).

Dennis, we request a final update to the spreadsheet, so we can see if Wayne really did win GT, and other things.

Did I ever get that missed lap in P class? I was told I missed a lap. I thought I recalled that my 76.x went to 77.x, but I think that was discussed AFTER the results (above) had been posted to SCI.

And, there are lots of prizes to give out.
I believe we have enough cash in the till to get all the cars, and prizes, sent home.

        • JT, I had a nice long post that got deleted due to a glitch with my keyboard explaining how our cars were so close and there wasn't much difference yesterday except I could get sideways and keep going but once in a while your Vette would hop out. You were faster down the long straights but some of the corners got you. Hard to believe we were so close after all this. And...we both got lucky with Mike having a couple of tough racin' incidents earlier in the series. Yesterday his anti-spin non linear controller allowed his Ortmann shod vac formed blob to make fun of all of us that spent the day sideways in the turns.
Congrats to all the podium finishers and thanks to all the race hosts and organizers along the way!

There would always be some sort of non linear step at the end of the resistor swing, right before full throttle. I would like to thank both Doctors, Rich and Robert for helping to prove this theory. I would also like to thank Mongo for being our test subject. Did anyone mention where all of the controllers are plugged into?
            Um, rectilinear?

            • GT Heat #1 Video

Note my introduction of cars/lanes near the beginning of the video is screwed up. Wayne's car was definitely in the black lane - can't be sure about Greg H., TR3, Spirit Racer Club and DaVols. If anyone with better eyes than me can make out which lanes/cars are which, please let me know.

Between the 2 classes there were roughly 40 heats! Since YouTube has a 10 minute limit on a given video, I can't just upload one or two long videos. And I won't have time to edit/render 40 individual videos. My current thinking is to post every 4-5 heats in each class - this should allow everyone to see there car in action during at least one heat. I won't have a chance to edit/render another video until late tomorrow. Stay tuned...

              • Robert's Lap Total For P Class

                Hello Robert,

I actually posted the P class results well after the racing had finished and everyone had left. However, I did go back and check the clipboard with the lap totals. You had 86.5 with a note next to it which reads "+1". The total shown in the results post, 87.5, includes the missed lap.

Glad you were able to join us Saturday! Now if we could get Dave up here...

                • Thanks! You are a gracious host. And I have to say, that track of yours is fun to drive. It looks intimidating in pictures, but in real life, it seems just right.

                  • Well done to all of you, and special thanks to Steve and Mike for the sterling efforts with my two clunkers!

I will try to get the results done tomorrow morning and I will post them as soon as I can.

After some rocky patches, the GPR came through with some fine racing and great events.

                    • Truly a World Class Act, and great fun racing with all of you guys. This whole shebang pushed the proxy concept another great step forward, thanks to everybody involved.

I have an original bootleg poster on my wall; no doubt I'll be able to sell it for thousands on Ebay by this time next year.

                      • WOW!! I can't believe I got first place in the Prototype race. Thank you Steve! The performance of this car was all over the map so to speak. I can't be happier with my first proxy race experience, two podiums including a first place finish. Looking forward to the CPR and RAA now. Hopefully I built cars that will have a more consistent performance.

Again, lesson learned - need to record the cars/lanes at the outset of each video clip. If someone can help with which cars in which lanes, I'll update the post.

I think I see a vague 911 shape and a flash of red and blue on the white car in the yellow lane. On that slim evidence I'll say its mine. Great track, great race, great coverage. Thanks for posting!
