"Don't see many Furries to worry about in GT class...."

Ah, you can bet there will be a '76 Corvette to worry about though.
I am soo ready for the GT class. This series is going to be great.
My GT car wasn't even supposed to be built. I intended to use the extra HRS chassis under a 908/3 for my brother. Besides lacking fancy paint, I like my GT car more than the 917.

Dave, what was your GT entry?

Is that trash talk meant for the GT or prototype Porsche Boyz? As a newbie to this and a race tuning in general I'm worried about ALL the other GT entries especially the low-riding-fender-exploding-super-wide group 5 cars.

On the flip side I whink we all know that it wouldn't be an endurance race of any import without a few Porsches cluttering up the top 10...
      </trashtalk>

My aspirations are a little more modest. I'll be thouroughly thrilled to be solidly mid pack.

My GT car will be shown when it's out of the paint booth.....

Like the man with a large rock in his grasp ... Dave is starting to feel a little bolder ...

<trashtalk> I hate to diss another Porsche constructor, but what's with the lightweight effort of a prototype-free team, Dave? Surely you could manage a Sloter Furie?</trashtalk>

            • No sir...with my GPR and RAA entries and probably VRAA entries I've spent all the money I can justify.

<justification>Sure, I could purchase a Sloter Furie at $40.00 then replace the wheels/axles/bearings/tires/motor/entry fee I'd have another $100 to enter a class that isn't one that I feel confident I can have at least an adequate showing in. </justification>

Vielen dank für das Foto vom Nürburgring! Extra spoilers and fences and flaps, oh my!

Is there a revised version of the rules? The ones I have are "world proxy rules v 6.5(2).pdf" -- obviously from back when the discussion centered around whether Bernie Ecclestone owned the intellectual rights to the word "world." This particular .pdf file was created July 13, 2006. If nothing has changed since then, this must go down as the most stable and all-encompassing set of rules in proxy race history!

I haven't been on the forums much -- to the delight of many, I'm sure -- as we're ripping up the old brick and mortar shop (remember those?) to make room for a ±60 ft per lane Scalextric 4-lane track. I've been looking at many layout designs, most recently Christian Gingras' Circuit du Grand Rocher II -- see groovy pix at:

                http://cgingras.com/photos/200607/finpiste/

Not to start a diplomatic incident here, but I like the attention to scenic detail one sees at most Canadian tracks, and of which many US tracks are -- alas! -- grimly bereft. I guess it's the age-old (well, since the fifties, anyway) dichotomy betwixt the not-necessarily mutually exclusive goals of competition and scale immersion.

Hope to have it up by Christmas, though my overseer Ron cracks the whip and says Thanksgiving.

                Cheers!

                • Hey Bart,

Thanks for dropping by! Version 6.5.5 of the rules can be found here. Only minor changes. Good news r.e. the track! Keep us posted. FYI, a gallery of GPR host track images and video can be found here.

                  • Group 5 will be well represented, as here is another pic of my GT entry, one of the much feared Team Gulf Capri cars. It is an embarrassingly stock Fly Racing Capri, except for Slot it gearing, paint, and Orts. But it does prefer a diet of Pooches, Celicas, and Vettes!

                        Nice looking ride Pete.
