    • Ok, just FYI. I built a Penelope Pit Chassis to go under my other orange midget. Fitted it with a BWA slimline, Wheels and tires. I'll say this...at 12 volts with regular PM low voltage controllers this car scoots around the track very well and very predictable. Much easier to drive then the EJ's with that FOX motor (that thing is a bull dog) Just letting you know.......

      • Agreed. The Fox motor takes some finesse to drive smoothly. It's seems very "on" or "off". Finding the sweet spot ain't easy.

I have my "Pitlane" (love the logo) chassis pretty much done. I just haven't built up the nerve to try to actually build the Revell kit to go with it yet.

I still have 2 Monogram and 1 Bigdonkey kits to finish

        • Well the pitlane fits under the Big Donkey very well!! I'll have to get some pics up of what I have so far.

Yeah, I know. The problem is that the other chassis I have won't fit the Revell.

            • Paul, just grab some aluminum channel, drill some holes for the bushings and guide, glue in a motor and call it done.

You gotta build a chassis sooner or later. Might as well be sooner than later.

Your right, but I can't just let my "fancy" pitlane doohickey go to waste, can I?

                • Just a quick thought...If it turns out the original Monogram cars cannot run due to the power issues, should I send my "backup" modern scratchbuilt?

                  • Don, you're car ran great!

One 'issue'...did you have a body screw in it when you sent it to me? If so, it fell out somewhere and I have looked high and low for it to no avail.

I do have screws that will fit it, but I didn't want to put one in it if you didn't want one there for some reason.

                    • Good to hear! That thing probably has an untold number of laps on it (albeit 40+ years ago!) I can't believe the tires still hooked up after all these years, I wish I knew what their formula was, I'd market it and make a fortune.

Yes, there was one in it when shipped...probably just vibrated out somewhere along the way. Go ahead and put another one in if you don't mind. Thanks again for hosting!

                      • Yep, those tires are something else to be that old. Someone obviously new about tire making.

I'll add a screw and it'll be good as new, or old, well, you know what I mean.

Happy to host, I really enjoyed it!
