The Parker Slot Car Club @ The Jordan Circuit
      The Memorial Weekend
      May 28, 2022

Despite the holiday and some COVID issues, we were able to hold a proper event and complete three classes.

      SLOT.IT Group C
      1. Tony 139 (new record), 4.897
      2. Brian 135, 4.971
      3. Greg 133, 4.865
      4. Pete 131, 4.904
      5. Eric 130, 5.050

      NSR GT
In response to a great deal of member input, testing by The Committee indicated that the track power should be reduced by 1V for the NSR GT class. Somehow, that resulted in new lap and distance records.
      1. Pete 141 (new record), 4.814
      2. Tony 139, 4.767 (new record)
      3. Brian 138, 4.838
      4. Eric 132, 4.964
      5. Greg 113, 5.606

      NSR F1
No reduction in track power for this class, but new records were set here as well.
      1. Brian 147, 4.416 (new records)
      2. Tony 144, 4.566
      3. Pete 141, 4.590
      4. Eric 141, 4.540
      5. Greg 127, 4.947

Many thanks to our host as usual.

      Current Lap Records
      Slot.it Group C: Pete, 4.817 & Tony, 139
NSR Modern GT: Tony, 4.814 & Pete, 141
      NSR F1 86/89: Brian, 4.416 & 147
Thunderslot Can Am: Brian, 4.559 & Tony, 145.9

What a wonderful series of racing we've been having as a bi-weekly event.

The track name has also shifted, slightly, to "The Jordan Circuit" given it's new location. We are considering this a track within the PSCC, despite the semantic naming issues.

Over the past few weeks we've seen the following classes:

          5/15:
          Mosler IROC
          NSR F1
          Thunderslot Can Am

          5/28:
          Slot.It Group C
          NSR GT
          NSR F1

For our next race, we're aiming for 6/11. As always, this is a private event. The classes anticipated to run are:
          NSR GT
          Slot.It Group C
          Thunderslot Can Am

As NSR F1 has been run the previous two sessions, it is being temporarily skipped for this upcoming session.

              HEADLINE! “Tony sweeps the event”

In other news, Brie the Cat is under medical supervision and on medication. As a result, she is no longer chasing cars and inappropriately soiling the track cover. As the DuPont company put it so well, “better living through chemistry.” Odie was his usual self, but Freya failed to appear at the circuit.
And now… the results of the day’s competition

NSR GT (9V): A superb contest
              1. Tony 140, 4.776
              2. Pete 139, 4.776
              3. Brian 136, 4.928
              4. Drew 125, 5.014
              5. Greg 115, 5.556
              6. George 111, 5.651

SLOT.IT Group C: Another superb contest
              1. Tony 141 (new record), 4.858
              2. Brian 140, 4.909

              4. Drew 119, 5.398
              5. Greg 131, 5.249
              6. George 130, 5.991

              Mosler IROC: Yet another, etc.
              1. Tony 131 (new record), 5.065
              2. Brian 130, 5.004 (new record)
              3. Pete 130, 5.039
              4. Greg 122, 5.411

              Hasta luego, compadres!

              Current Lap Records
              Slot.it Group C: Pete, 4.718 & Tony, 141
              NSR 9V GT: Tony, 4.767 & Pete, 141

                Interesting stats

The winning lap totals from the first race meeting at the old location-
                Group C, 127 laps
                NSR GT, 129 laps
                NSR F1, 135 laps
                Can Am, 142 laps

The leading lap totals at the new location-
                Group C, 141 laps
NSR GT, 141 laps (despite lower track voltage)
                NSR F1, 147 laps
                Can Am, 141 laps (?)

Due to the frankly outrageous prices the 1/32 manufacturers charge for rear axle bushings, I suggest a rule change to allow any 3/32 i.d. replacement bushings so long as no modifications are made to the chassis or pod to accommodate them.

The PSCC / The Jordan Circuit traveled to Fantasy Raceways (their supplier for all-things 1/32 scale for their racing program) for a Porsche Challenge race!

The write-up will come soon. A challenging Porsche Challenge race was held on 7/30 with racers from Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse in attendance. The cars provided are from the NSR "Return to Race" program with all NSR-supplied parts. The cars were divided up to the entrants by a lottery and fun was had by all.

After the Porsche Challenge race, a few people stayed behind to partake in an NSR support race with NSR F1's. The cars performed admirably and a close race was had, with 4 laps separating the field. The participants agreed that the F1 race should be a headlining event in the future.

Parker Slot Car Club @ The Jordan Circuit VISITING...

                        Fantasy Raceways!!!!

                        July 30th, 2022

We have a traveling event! The members of the PSCC joined with locals at Fantasy Raceways for a special event. PSCC brought 10 NSR Porsche 997 GT3's (provided by NSR through their "Return To Racing" program) for an invitational event.

The day ahead of the event saw much-needed last-minute testing. Car weight, motor pod tuning, and body float amounts were solidified and blueprinted across the fleet. Track voltage was modified and selected to run the cars at the desired performance level for novices and pros alike.

The big day arrived and racers converged on Fantasy Raceways. Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse were represented. Racers had an hour to familiarize themselves with the class of GT3 Porsche's. With 11 drivers in attendance and 10 cars available, two racers joined forces to form a team for the duration of the event. The cars were selected through a raffle by the 10 racers/teams. The first few heats were tentative as racers got in the groove of racing the 1/32 on a 1/24 track. A good and competitive race evolved and fun was had by all.

NSR Porsche 997 GT3 Challenge Race (thank you NSR!):
                        1. Bud 170.04, 7.863 (Green) - racer that extracted the most out of the car through fast times and a consistent performance. It was a clinic to watch!
                        2. Jeff 166.08, 8.044 (Green) - the shop owner showed there's no substitution for experience and consistency.
                        3. Brian / Tony 161.18 (Blue) - a late-charging car secured the last podium spot!
                        4. Mr. X 159.14, 8.171 (Green) - a local who had a great showing
                        5. Matt 157.01, 8.265 (White) - a new challenger who had an excellent showing
                        6. Pete 156.13, 8.073 (Blue) - co-organizer that got tangled up in a few crashes
                        7. Eric 152.13, 8.211 (Red) - consistency secured him 7th!
                        8. Greg 148.13, 8.063 (Orange) - fast times marred by a few entanglements.
                        9. Nick 141.17, 8.030 (Orange) - car troubles impacted his otherwise fast pace.
                        10. Trevor 124.02, 8.546 (Purple) - the tire rubbed on the interior that came loose, greatly reducing his lap totals for the first 4 heats.

After the NSR Porsche 997 GT3 Challenge Race, a few racers had to leave. The remaining racers decided that one race wasn't enough and brought out their own NSR F1 cars to hold a SECOND event for the day! With 8 racers present and 7 cars, another team was formed between Pete & Matt. The track was reduced to the 4 inner lanes so that enough marshalls were on-hand to help. In the end, the competitive and consistent racing meant that not many cars fell off and the marshalls were overall not busy!

NSR Porsche 997 GT3 Challenge Race (thank you NSR!):
                        1. Nick 83.09, 8.284 (Orange) - WHAT A WIN!!! First ever class win with a consistent and FAST race.
                        2. Jeff 83.01, 8.329 (Orange) - He did his best to chase down the leader and only was 7 sections behind the winner. What a close race!
                        3. Matt/Pete 82.10, 8.374 (Yellow) - Finishing a lap behind the top two provided close racing throughout the entire podium.
                        4. Eric 82.03, 8.425 (Green) - Matching his performance from the first race, consistency throughout the race provided a high lap total.
                        5. Tony 80.15, 8.618 (Green) - The beginning started a bit rough as the car didn't perform as well as it did in practice. He managed a decent lap time and brought the car home at the end of the race.
                        6. Greg 79.94, 8.481 (Orange) - Getting tangled up and a few deslotting adventures was the difference in such a close race.
                        7. Bvacc DSQ - Illegal Tires
What a close race! Less than 4 laps (and less than half a second) separated the field. Given the competition and how well the NSR F1's suited the hill climb track, it was universally agreed that this race needs to be replicated as SOON!

                          HEADLINE! “Tony continues his dominance”

In an effort to resume regular racing after the summer doldrums, regular racing has begun! The PSCC @ The Jordan Circuit is developing a temporary racing schedule until...DAH DAH DAH...a multi-circuit race series begins in October! More details to follow for this invite-only racing series.

Thunderslot Can-Am: WHAT A FINISH!!! While Tony and Brian duked it out for the lead, the other 4 racers competed closely for the final podium spot. This is the first race, that we can remember, where ALL racers finished in the 4's.
                          1. Tony 143+, 4.769 - Despite some trouble staying in the slot, a consistent performance across all 4 lanes proved to be the winning formula.
                          2. Brian 143- (5 feet less!!!), 4.674 - His struggles on Red ended up being his undoing for the lead.
                          3. Greg 134, 4.892
                          4. Pete 133, 4.998
                          5. Nick 129, 4.893
                          6. Dave 128, 4.96
                          *No new records recorded.

NSR GT (9V): The McLarens are out in force - including a race win for a first-time raced car.
                          1. Tony 137, 4.890 - Once the tires trued in a bit through on-track racing, this car became a rocket ship. Red = fast!
                          2. Pete 136, 4.960 - WOW! The Mercedes is a consistent and face race car at the hands of Pete.
                          3. Brian 134, 5.087 - First time race with the Gulf McLaren resulted in a podium despite balance and tire issues.
                          4. Dave 130, 4.970 - A track issue on blue only impacted his car, otherwise a podium finishing place was in his future.
                          5. Greg 124, 5.388 - Porsche 997 GT3 showed well in it's pink BWT livery.
                          6. Nick 121, 5.109 - Tires were just not working as-expected.
                          *No new records recorded.

SLOT.IT Group C: Matching Martini Lancia's took the two top steps of the podium.
                          1. Brian 137, 4.865
                          2. Tony 131, 4.958
                          3. Pete 127, 5.159
                          4. Dave 118, 5.109
                          5. Nick 118, 5.246
                          6. Greg 102, 5.255
                          *No new records recoded.

As summer winds to a close, slot car racers return to the tracks and rekindle their love of the hobby. Our membership took part in a multi-team Enduro and took 2 out of the 3 podium places! PSCC also provided cars for half of the event.

The intial race days and events for this invite-only club have been shared with their members. We can't wait to share future race event updates with you all.

We do have some unfortunate news to share with you, however. The planned multi-track series for this fall has been cancelled. It's an unfortunate loss for the slot car racers in the area. However, our track and membership will persevere onward with our regular race program.

We look forward to sharing updates with you all soon. Happy racing!
