So the track opened up today and the track is only one groove at the moment (yellow lane). As the next two days go by the local companion series will help expand the groove to four lanes.

As the driver(s) gets used to the track and setup of their cars each car ran a shake down 10 laps then tire clean and 20 hot laps. During the hot laps a fast time was gone after once a level of comfort was achieved. There were only 4 offs out of all the cars.

The Prototype class hit the track first. In no particular order.

      Free Practice #1

      Name..........Best..........Mean

      aaroldn........5:593........5:68........Smooth-Could use more motor
      Audi1...........5:684........5:79........Smooth-NO brakes-Fast!!
Austin..........5:954........6:05........Touch loose-losses speed in turns-body may hit tires
Jscot111.......5:595........5:66........Smooth-Fast-Could use more acceleration out turns
Budslots.......5:396........5:45........Tuned to this track-Faster than when it left
      steeveew......5:754........5:83.......Smooth-Slow acceleration-push to get speed
maddick1943.5:890........6:10........Front bounces-tough to get into the groove FAST when you can

      Next was the GT-1 Class

steeveew.......5:815........5:92........Smooth-can push the car-Struggles in the quick right & left section
Oscar Racing..5:762........5:83........Smooth-Can push for good laps
WCRacer........5:739........5:81........Smooth-Can Push for days!-Just cuts through the corners-FAST!
BrumosRSR.....5:993........6:08.......Car can be MUCH faster-BODY RUBS BAD on the rear tires
maddick1943...6:365........6:48.......Front Bounces-Feels faster than what it ran
      Austin............5:790........5:84........Fast-Smooth-Felt I could get more

      Finally GT-2 Class

      Audi1............6:158.........6:22........Fast-can push-touch loose-Smooth
Spiritracer......6:910........7:11........Motor does not seem to get power-braids ok
      Aloha............6:09...........6:21........Fast-chatters in turns if pushed
aaroldn..........6:537.........6:71........Top heavy in turns-fast and smooth

There were four cars that I felt I should elaborate on. Feel free to ask questions on your car :-)

Austin - Your P class car I feel the body leans on the ties though the tires and scrub speed off to the car.

Spiritracer - Your GT-2 class car just doesn't seem to get the power to the motor needs or the motor is going bad. The braids look great and the guide seems fine.

BrumosRSR - Your GT-1 class car is rubbing big time in the rear wheel wells. I had to power through the corners to get the best out of the car.

maddick1943 - Your GT-1 car the front bounces on the straights and the wood guide does not like the quick right and left turn section of my track. But through all that it feels faster than the times I was getting. I'll regear for FP#2 to see if I can better adjust to the car. The tires are a different compound? They slide a little more than the other cars in the turns so I lose a little there.

My track is a track that rewards cars that can cut through (attack) the corners, accelerate very quickly and have good brakes. It is very fast for a flat plastic track. Very high paced. I hope to get some pictures and video of the event up this weekend as it happens. Enjoy!

          Wet

Some of the local F40's came to talk about how fast your car gets around my track. Yours is the fastest F40 I have ran.

                BrumosRSR

Here are two pictures. It is the driver side of the car. I have a lot of right hand turns so the car leans on the tire 8 time out of 12 turns.

Rubs the back side of the wheel well

Top view the rim & Gear are in as far as they can go. so when the car leans it sits right on the tire.

                  You make my day!

Yours is the fastest F40 I have ran.
                  Well I'm just delighted.

The car was a bit of an experiment for me; I converted it to sidewinder just because I've wanted to try that with an F40, and I left the interior intact instead of replacing it with a lexan one.

Gotta give credit where it's due, so thanks to Super Tires for making such great looking wheels and grippy silicones and Slot.it for making such awesome slot cars!

Well Free Practice #2 is in the books and the track is shutting down for the evening. It was a frantic scene as many teams with their feet wet from FP#2 were scrambling for their fast time and boy the times dropped!

Tire clean then 20 hot laps........Fast time was gone for once a comfort was established with each car.

                    GT-1 Class

This class got a lot tighter. The field came after WCR's entry's fast lap time. I didn't know if WCR could do it but the driver responded with the second to last lap to stay on top of the boards!!

                    1..WCR...............5:635........5:67

                    GT-2 Class

This class was going to see a epic battle between two cars but 4 laps into the run Aloha's car lost a screw and it threw the balance off! It is one of the rear body screws. They were only able to get so close to their first time laid down in FP #1. The car is a little jumpy in the turns now.

A car also having issues didn't get any better spiritracer's car continued to slow even more on the power. There is no smell - braids ok - no body rub - gears are not lose - good mesh - wheels tight. Just not sure without opening the car to see the connections to the motor and guide.

                    1..Audi1..............6:080........6:15
                    2..Aloha..............6:122........6:22
                    3..aaroldn...........6:591.........6:70
                    4..spiritracer........7:080........7:16

This is FUN :-). I am enjoying everyones car!

You can open Spiritracer's car and fix it if you see something going bad, He said he would take a cut in points for anything that is done.

Feel free to take a look at the #99 F40, I believe there was or should have been a small washer between the chassis and the body post. I understand that there maybe a penalty and I accept the consequences.

                            Thanks for the run guys.
Were you able to locate the screw. Please replace if you can.
It would be great if it could be replaced with a similar depth to the other side.
                            Have fun
