May go to Urethane tires next year

There are a lot of tracks that would host these races if we were running Urethane tires, Plus they are easy to sand and profile They don't want to run the silicone any more.

So we could use BOSA TIRES, Paul Gage Tire and super dogs.

This is just a thinking ahead. What does anyone think?

I like the idea, we've seen other top proxies making this kind of change in recent times.

BUT (and this is just my way of looking things) Proxy Racing at its' finest gives the racers a chance to find out what works best, be it tires, motors, gearing, whatever.

So why impose a limit on accepted Urethanes? Sure, the Paul Gage product is well regarded, as are the Yellowdogs. But are there others that may be even better - BOSA for instance, and I'm sure there must be others.

So as long as they're some kind of urethane, why not allow them 'in'?

Here is an idea...
What if we ask BOSA (or for that matter PG, YD) to become the sponsor of the 2017 RAA.
It could be used as a developmental program for them as well.
It also may make the playing field a little more level.
Personally I like seeing different manufactures doing tires as we know in the 1 to1 world it really helps to push the development of the product.

I like the idea and it does open up a lot more potential tracks for the RAA.

I'd leave it at urethane and let the entrants choose their manufacturers. No gray dust Ortmanns though..........................

I run in the RAA because it is one of the few silicon tire proxies. It is what sets it apart, there are many proxies that run urethane or rubber tires already do we really need an other one?

As there is no track racing silicones in Greece to test on, i do not enter silicone tire proxies.Free choice urethane tires make it attractive.

If you insist for some reason, make it any rubber or urethane tire.

I think that silicones are the fastest tires when properly trued and for that reason, I like to run them. But, it does limit the proxy to North American tracks and, in some cases, it has not always been that easy to identify 10-12 tracks to run silicone tires on; for example this year's CanAm proxy.

While I said yes to urethane I will run silicone if that is what the proxy requires. Its just most of the proxies I have competed in are urethane proxies. I will do whatever is required.

Those who entered this year and those who may enter next year, or host next year participation mean a lot to getting this proxy back on track. Yes Canada is part of America too
