  • SPR - Round 8 - Spa-Lyons

This is the thread for the results for last Wednesday's Spa-Lyons race. Hopefully they will be posted soon!

Why does it take so long for someone to pst results,we have had two people comment on the results
But no actual results? Is there some problem with the scoring?
This track uses a pc based system so results shoud be able to be exported/ saved in excell and easily posted as a jpeg.

      7. #71 Black3sr - 77.900
      8. #08 VTECFOUR- 75.890

Cheers to the podium finishers and to everyone who participated, including our gracious host Drew, other racers Kevin and Chuck and all of our marshals!

I will let the drivers comment themselves on the performance of various cars.

Car number 07 deslotted exiting a corner onto the long back straight and was immediately punched from behind by number 23 resulting in damage to the rear of the body. The chassis for 07 was fine and the car ran identical times after the collision. Unfortunately the rear portion of body between the taillights cracked and needs to be repaired. Car number 23 was unaffected as the collision was relatively minor despite the body damage. I can repair it before sending off the cars to the next round if race control and the owner permit.

      Pictures to follow.

      Cheers!

      Art

The spreadsheet in post #8 of the Results and Scoring thread has been updated. One change in SPX standings, otherwise the same.

Nice going to Alexis for getting to the top of the HP podium. Quite amazing compared to last year when the car had slippery tires.

Well done by the rest of podiumites who are becoming quite familiar at the top.

Thanks Art for being the regional hub master, Drew for track hosting and the drivers and marshals for your time and effort.

Is there another Greater Toronto Area track on the schedule?

          Dan

P.S. The cars may be going to Doubl-B in the States next, so we'll let him decide if he wants to repair his own #7 HP car.

Congrats Alexis! You came on strong at the end of last year's proxie too.

If the cars are coming to me next, I'll do the repair on my car if that is OK. According to the spreadsheet, it looks like Cornerstone is up next.

              thanks.

It was a pleasure to watch. Actually watching all of them with great drivers on the beautiful Spa layout was a treat.

We three slow guys in the HPs started the night off. It was nice to see my car finish first in that group. Then it was all downhill for me as car after car beat my results.

My SPX was one of the faster cars but way too light. I suspect it weighed in at about half of some of the others. It had more offs than all the others combined.

Thanks for another great round. Congrats to the podiumites. Quick turnaround and super organisation also appreciated. Will look forward to photos.

Good to see HP final result still in doubt. Keep up the good work Double-B and Phil and best of luck to you both. I am well out of contention but good to see my previous running mate Alexis win a round. He has left me finally in his dust.

SPX winner is virtually settled but minor placings including my current second will no doubt be closely contested over the final three rounds. Depends to some extent on tracks I suppose so I will look forward to details of these in due course.

The last three tracks appear to be Cornerstone; Vernon and Hazard. Will see if I can find photos and post.

Cornerstone - looks fast. Will probably not suit my cars.

Vernon - more to my liking perhaps.

Hazard - another shorter track possibly.

                    Regards

As much as we're all obsessed, errrr I mean as much as we all enjoy our 'hobby', LIFE tends to supersede our other indulgences, Work, family, and other commitments can derail the best intent..."The road to hell is paved with good intentions"...That said, I thoroughly enjoyed hurtling these little beasts around my course, and interesting to see what chassis, gearing etc seemed to work (or not). Several suffered from little or no lack of grip, out of round, perhaps partially due to usage from prior events...At Spa, D'Art urethaness are a must!...So after some user upload challenges, and a LOT of time, for your viewing pleasure, a photographic capture, taken graciously by 'D'Art.

                        Well done!

It was a pleasure to have observed and raced the Sprites. Some very clever and elaborate scratch build brass chassis and detailed liveries. The biggest detriment to performance in most cases was out of round tires and tires that rubbed on bodywork. The top finishers were smooth runners with no rubbing parts.
                        Nice job by all entrants.

Those Sprites look stunning on that track! Great pics Art! Was even fun to watch and marshal for the evening.
                          Thanks

Thanks for the nice photos and the good run. Really cool choice of background "spectator" cars - Jags, MGs, etc. Looks like a very nice track!
