Well done Alexis, your car is coming on strong! Bit dissappointed to have fallen off the wagon with my car. After discussions with KK racing I think my motor may be on the way out which is a real shame.

Thanks to the guys from R32 for letting our little cars loose on your fantastic tracks.

    Thanks,

    Pete

Thanks for Hosting Drew and thanks to all those who helped out marshaling. The Spa Lyons track proved difficult for some of the lighter cars in the field to say the least. It was a privilege to dive all of your cars for a second time in this series, and I thank you all for that.

I would have liked to have given Bill's SPX car a smoother ride "especially with him in attendance and someone I've known and raced with for several years" but at 54 grams that poor car just didn't like the long straight section that goes into the "compression dog leg" so appropriately named - Eau Rouge. The heavier cars flowed through there with ease but the lighter cars were a handful through there and considering it's the fastest part of the layout if your car was upset through there it wasn't going to do very well.
Bill's car was a sweetheart and did very well at the Ring, but just couldn't tame Spa and "Eau Rouge"

There's a lesson to be learned here somewhere I think
I think the podium SPX cars at Spa were somewhere between 80 and 90 grams?

See turn 3 below: "Critical Point, Challenging"

Art and Drew did a fine job of bringing this very difficult and world renowned section of track into Drew's Spa Lyons layout It's as difficult on the 1/32 cars as it is on the 1:1 cars

Come on Kevin. What you are trying to say is my SPX was a piece of crap and I agree. I think the driver is salvageable. We shall try again next year with #72.

Hey Bill, thanks for the kudos re the track and driving, and glad that a 'local' participant of the series was in attendance. Honestly, I think if you swapped chassis between SPX and Sprite, both would have fared better. Higher powered motor needed some weight to hold Eau Rouge, the off camber 'Rivage' like corner, and La source as well. Just a thought..

            Hi all.

On weight issue both my cars were about 66-67gms prior to painting if I recall correctly. Happy to be proved wrong but doubt either would be over 70gms finished.

My HP is clearly wrongly geared but my SPX still appears to be going pretty good. It does however have a fairly low powered motor.

Hope this is of some help.

            Regards

            Chas Le Breton

              Hi Bill

That's not what I'm saying at all. Your car was a gem on the smooth flowing Ring circuit but weighing in at 54 grams your car didn't seem to like that compression bump and dog leg at Spa Lyons very much.
Seems high powered cars that don't weigh very much like to decompress at that bump and flip over.
All 3 of us were having the same problem.
You should have stopped by at the Ring......... We gave your car a hell of a good ride there and it responded wonderfully.

I think we all learned a little something about the Spa Lyons circuit from this that may pay dividends in the future.

Race on boys, and hopefully there are some smoother roads ahead Bill

Just joking Kevin. I can't wait to get them home and tear them apart.
