SPR 2014 - Round 12 - Cornerstone Raceway

The transport is currently being loaded and scheduled to arrive at Cornerstone this Friday, early evening. The track is being prepared for their arrival, signage is being installed, the vendors are stocking up their carts with food and souvenirs.

The race has been sold out for weeks!!!

Fans are starting to arrive in their RV's and pop-up campers, jockeying position for a good view of the race. Tent city is growing in population each day. Even though there are showers and rain forecast for the later part of the week, the fans just keep coming in, seems nothing can dampen their spirits!

Rumors and speculation on who may be "dropping by" this year and the announcement of another race series dominates the conversations. This event tends to draw big names to the track, you never know who may be in town!

The weather for the day of the race looks to be perfect, with a high temperature in the mid 70's!

The cars are being unloaded now. The track is dry and ready to go. The rain has passed, and it's a beautiful 70° out now as a few drivers are getting some laps in before dark. Look forward to a great race tomorrow!

About 70 miles away, on coastal Mass, the JT Previa hauler is gassed up and loaded and the cameras are charging. Now testing the tapatalk iPad app for live qualifying reports starting around 8:00 AM Eastern Standard Time, so that means I need to leave by 6:45, which means I have to get up by....WAIT A MINUTE... It's Saturday!

For our international fans not listening to live coverage on BBC World Service, SCI coverage will begin after 8:00AM Eastern Standard Time, which is UTC -5. Not sure how daylight savings or summer time affects these times:

5:00 AM for Retro and VTEc in Canada

8:00 AM for Black3sr on Toronto

1:00 PM for Pete in Britain

3:00 PM for Alexis in Greece

11:00 PM For Phil in Aus

1:00 AM the next day(.) For Chas in NZ

First practice laps for 45, this red Sprite seems solid and the tires like the track

Next is blue 45, a bit looser for the big blue SPX. Will traction be the major factor in today's' races?



You can see the driver's grimace as he fights the wheel to minimize the slide at the end of the long straight!
