Retro's Alfas

My U class winning Alfa has BWA 15s all around and Luf urethanes on rear.
My UX had the wheels from a MRSlotcar Mazda all around, and Luf urethanes on rear.

I realized that the first track ran silicone tires but didn't realize they all did in the US hub. That would explain the changes in results as the cars came to the all-urethane tracks in Canada, eh?

Hi Mether05,

One other small point and wonder if others have found this as well: I used Luf's urethane's on the front as well as the rear of my Lotus because I find urethane tires so much easier to true than rubber tires. Any time I've tried to true rubber tires I end up with a soggy, half melted mess. I suspect (read know) my truing method is not remotely close to perfect, but given the option, I would far prefer to true a urethane tire (in minutes) than a rubber tire in a portion of an hour.

Also, I usually do coat my trued urethane tires with either nail polish or CA to reduce the coefficient of friction.

How does one purchase Luf urethanes? I wouldn't mind trying some.

Hi Retro Racer - Luf's link does not work. Should it have "d" in it?

On tracks that use silicone all this means to me is they will be perfectly clean. Do not think this should be a problem for urethane tires. Main thing probably is that once event starts no silicones should be allowed until over. Particularly important for anybody running rubber tires.
