    The Targa Burnaby...

...the Targa Burnaby away...with the help of vtecfour and Ross, who now owns the track...

We're calling the new track the Big Targa because of the lane spacing...driver stations will be in this corner

    There'll be almost no straights...

Got about half the track cut and routed today...

The boys are gonna hate me...

Lotsa room, even for 1/18 Sidecars...

    ...and 1/24 scale cars...

Hi John...it's Tuesday here and the routing is done. This afternoon, Mike came over and helped with the bracing and carpentry and Don (tf1250) and Dan (vtecfour) got the painting done.

After a nice dinner, Dan and I got the center lane taped and ran some laps.

G'Day Luff, I haven't been on here for some time, great to see you still building tracks mate!
I like the flow of this one, can't wait to see it taped and running... what's the scenery for this track?

Any more detailed pictures of how the bracing is setup please? I seem to have to over build my tables due to my location so interested to learn some good bracing techniques.

Looks great as usual. What kind of tape are you using? It does not look copper colored in the video.
                  Thanks, Rich

dazee...I tend to underbuild everything, so don't look at this track for structural details. I can make a real woodworker weep.

GT3Racerich...we only ever use Venture Master Copper tape, 1 mil thick and 7/32 wide

Also, I tell everyone to use a Freud 1/8" double fluted carbide router bit, and then I went out and bought some off-brand "green" single fluted bit...a piece of junk that went dull after about 40 ft

                        A Freudian slip perhaps?

                          Thanks Luf
                          Possible stupid question.
When I look up the Venture tape it says "Copper Foil" on the package.
                          That is the same thing?
                          Rich

EDIT: I just found the info on your web site.

Got the fencing done today and filled the holes with aluminum mesh, ready for plaster cloth.
First race is tomorrow nite and that should keep the cars off the floor.

Did about 100 laps tonight with a friend, using his 1/24 scale cars...best lap so far is 9.7
We'll probably knock a second off that tomorrow

That looks exciting....those squeezes will enforce discipline in the drivers.
