Every track I've built had 3" spacing and squeezes, this time I thought I'd try 4" spacing and no squeezes. Most like it, but some of us miss the squeezes. Next track...

Anyone thinking of building a wood track, stay away from "ultra light MDF". It doesn't rout well.

    Looks fantastic Luf.

I was thinking of a squeeze section or two on my next track and have noticed you deleted them out of your most recent track. Any reason in particular for doing that?

Late to the game as usual...wow, great work Luf...fast'n'flowing like every race track should be!

Hi guys. And girls. And everyone.

Please forgive me, but I'm going to inject a quick OT Infomercial here. If you've ever been thinking about entering a Proxy Race, well this one may appeal; the rules - particularly about tires and setup - are straightforward.

I'll never be brilliant as a driver, but may have some talent as a Proxy Race builder; and most of what I've learned about setting up and tuning a car comes from doing this it's a lot of fun, particularly when you're looking for something to see in the slot car universe when you check your computer.

So if I've piqued your interest, see what you think about being able to put together a competitive car for the 2017 SCITCC!

We now return you to your regularly scheduled routing. By now, you should know how to get there. Clever pun eh, Alwyn?

Good stuff: that is pretty quick for a brand new track! I just took a look: on April 7 last year you wrote about the (then new) Targa:

"Did about 100 laps tonight with a friend, using his 1/24 scale cars...best lap so far is 9.7 We'll probably knock a second off that tomorrow"

Now, just a bit more than a year later, bracket times on a fast race is frequently in the low 7 second range. Best lap that I have done on the now-gone track was 6.42 seconds. All this is a heck of an improvement from the first laps at 9.7 seconds!

Now Murray has done a 6.9 on the first sighting of the new track: a bit scary to wonder where we might be ending up lap time wise on the new track....

    Fun times!

And just a couple of added thoughts:

    * If you see Murray "bobbling" on the same corner more than once, you just KNOW the track is green. Well, sort of a greyish green in any case....
    * That is one long straight for a Luf track!

Luf: What was the best lap time of the evening and now that you have seen a few laps: what kind of lap time are you expecting us to get to?

Totally agree: very much looking forward to running on it (tomorrow?). This is one of the advantages of being a slot car fan in the Vancouver area: you get to race on these incredible Luf creations.

Luf: you are the master, plain and simple. I will never cease to marvel at how you just seem to conceive and visualise these wonderful tracks and then build them in a few days. I believe you are some kind of freak of nature (in the best possible sense of the word of course!).

Methinks a) your monitor needs adjusting or b) you are suffering from colour blindness? The track is GREY, Paul!

Hi Luf, always admired your tracks, is it possible to show how you make the buildings?

If you want to see what a few laps look like, we just ran the Carrera Panamericana Proxy and put a video up on YouTube at https://youtu.be/IenSNJM1wXM
