  • Had a nice morning with my wife this morning...up a little early, nice and quiet, coffee...about an hour ago I was looking at a track here and she came up over my shoulder. Suddenly she was there for quite some time [in participatory wife terms], and was quickly mindblown by the quality of what she was seeing.

The reason I'm posting this here is because it was this track, on this date, where my wife got inspired enough to volunteer to do scenic design work on my future track. Let me just leave this guy here:

She loved in particular this track, and kept saying "wow" with just about every picture. Once she realized how much scratch-building there was to do, she was hooked. She started giving her opinion about things she liked and said things like "I like those race cars from the 60's", and other gems like "good thing the attic is nice and big" and "looks like you're going to need more track."

I couldn't have planned this any better. In fact, my attempts at mind control by accidentally putting a pic of a 917k as her computer background image were met with humor, but not taken for the purpose they were intended.

But now I can pretty safely say she is converted. Thanks to tracks like this one and other great ones [which I just may revive a few threads of for kicks], YOUR work has inspired my wife in a way I couldn't.

Sounds like the beginnings of a country song, Indybob.

        • It's odd to read about guys trying to control women.

          Inspiration, however, is different entirely.

          • I think she'll continue to be inspired by it, as she likes the idea of scenery building, as well as the creativity of it. She respects it, and that's cool with me. It's good to know I have her to share my enthusiasm with.

              • After much peeking, i decided to signup and start my first post by thanking Len1775 for his great pictures and explanations.
Thanks to mainly this, dare i say tutorial(?) and the inspiration i have gotten from gazing at jmswms' and Cuda67's work i have decided to dust off my Ninco sets, and give use to my attick!*

Guess i don't have to explain for what purpose

So Thank you... (is there a bowing smiley?)

                * Anticipating after reading too much here: Yes hence the nick...

PS Forgive me, my English might not be perfect, but i bet it's better than your Dutch..

                • If ever a thread needed a bump it's this one. Thanks for sharing your build tips and showing us how (relatively) easy it is to create something with such realism that I wish I was 1/32 my size and could stroll through your countryside.

                  Cheers

                  Paul

                        I'm sorry!
                        I apologize for my mistake.
I'm a moderator in a few Italian RC Forum... ...but I toke wrong.

I would like to ask if this Track in Molfetta is still existing or not.
                        Thanks a lot.

I remember him selling off his cars a few years ago. He moved to a smaller place and couldn't take the track with him. I don't think the track still exists, but I am not 100% sure.
This is definitely one of the best scenic tracks I have seen, and the step by step instructions are great.
I'm glad that he took the time to share his build. Hopefully the photos won't disappear from the thread in the future.

                            • The pictures aren't gone. Do a Google search on how to view Photobucket images and download a viewing tool.

                              • Thanks Sports Racer. I downloaded the photobucket fix a couple months ago and all is good. I hope it stays that way.
I was really bummed when I first saw that the pics were gone. I have a lot of thread subscriptions and this is my favorite one for scenery because of the way all the techniques are documented so thoroughly.
