...how did you end up in this hobby?

An interesting thread elsewhere lead me to thinking 'how did I end up in this hobby?'...so here's a little background covering from then 'til now

As a kid in the 60's we had manual toys, I loved creating tracks out of wood building blocks and pretending to race my Dinky cars.

I am just providing data. They can do whatever they wish with it. Maybe I am saying get that copper under the table and put in a few extra taps.

I have proven that the ring bus is superior to the star method of wiring power taps. I also know that the more power taps the better. My...

I started building plastic models about 1958. In 1962 we moved, and I had a neighbor with four girls and I became sort of like an adopted son. He had a slot car set that we used to run for hours. I think it was out of England and unusual, as the power conductors were on the sides of the slots and the...

13 ohm arm /no traction mags seems like it would be tailored to TJet clubs looking for something similar yet different perhaps? Or maybe matching the pace of the brass cars at 12v for those who can’t adjust their tracks down to 12.

either way, the price is right!...

I grew up (50's' 60's) pretty mechanically inclined. But there wasn't a lot to do with it. There were various mechanical based things my parents bought me, but not much held my interest for very long.

Then came a small hobby shop, near me. Early 60's, and the Aurora, reed driven H.O cars....

With the deep wood guide firmly planted down, I doubt the elevation changes will cause any trouble. I the Truck proxy races that we ran a few years back we have many different tracks, both MDF and plastic. Get the guide down into the slot and get the front axle "slop" to a minimum and you...

I am not familiar with the plugs that set type tracks use. This is how club tracks are wired.

I don't know the OS3 at all, so can only comment on Difalco vs. ACD, 3rd Eye, Carsteen.
Disclaimer - I have now been selling Difalco for 6 years, I may be biased.

Most guys in our club start with a Professor Motor (I sell those too), I have upgraded umpteen 2120 entry level models...
